Open a PDF, Word or PowerPoint file

Turn your existing files into notebooks you can write on.

Updated

NoteM opens your files as notebooks: every page or slide becomes a page you can write and draw on.

The + menu in the library: Quick note, New notebook, Import PDF, Word or PowerPoint, Import images, Scan document and New folder.
  1. In the library, tap + and choose Import PDF, Word or PowerPoint.
  2. Pick one file, or several at once.
  3. Wait while NoteM converts them. Each file becomes its own notebook in the folder you have open.
  4. If you imported a single file, it opens straight away. Several files appear in the library.

What you can open

  • PDF
  • Word (.docx, .doc)
  • PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt): one slide per page, and a .pptx keeps its click animations
  • Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV
  • Keynote, Pages and Numbers
  • RTF, plain text and images

If a file won’t open, export it as PDF from Word or PowerPoint and import the PDF instead.
